Pie Crust:
1 cup of flour
1/2 tsp. of salt
1/3 cup plus 1 tbsp shortening
3-4 tbsp cold water

Pie Filling:
1 cup of butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs

Pie Crust:
Measure flour and salt into bowl. Cut in shortening thoroughly. Sprinkle in water, 1 tbsp at a time, mixing until all flour is moistened and dough almost cleans side of bowl (1-2 tsp water can be added if needed.) Gather dough into ball. Shape into flattened round on lightly floured cloth covering board. With flour covered rolling pin, roll dough 2 inches larger than inverted pie pan. Fold pastry into quarters, unfold and place into pan. Prick bottom and side thoroughly with fork. Bake at 475 for 8-10 minutes.

Pie Filling:
Gradually add butter and sugar. Cream well. Melt chocolate. Cool. Then blend into creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Using an electric beater on medium speed, add eggs one at a time, beating 5 minutes after each one. Pour into cooled, baked pie shell. Chill overnight. Garnish with whipped cream and walnuts.
