1/2 c. ketchup
2 Tbsp. Jack Daniels whisky
1 Tbsp. steak sauce
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 NY strip steaks 8 oz. each and 1 in. thick
3 medium cloves garlic or 1 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. olive oil
1 Tbsp. crushed rosemary
2 tsp. coarsely ground pepper

In a small saucepan, combine the sauce ingredients with 1/2 cup of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
On a cutting board, roughly chop garlic (or use minced garlic) and sprinkle salt on top. Crush the salt and garlic together using the flat side of a knife. In a small bowl, mix the garlic paste with oil, rosemary and pepper. Smear the mixture evenly over the steaks. Grill the steaks directly over high heat until cooked to desired doneness. Cook 6-8 minutes for medium-rare, turning once. Serve warm with sauce.
