1-2 lbs. beef liver
2 onions, sliced
1/2 - 1 lb. bacon
Rice
Don't forget the rye bread!

Directions:
Directions:
Clean liver to get the grisle out. Flour on both sides. Fry bacon in a large frying pan, remove from pan, reserving the grease. Fry liver in the bacon grease til browned on both sides - remove from pan. Add onions to pan and fry til soft. Put bacon and liver back in the pan. Add water to cover. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes until gravy thickens, stirring occasionally. Add a little water whisked with flour to thicken gravy if it is too thin, continue cooking uncovered.
Make rice as needed.
