8 large green peppers (chop 1/3 cups of the tops)
5 cups cooked ground beef
1 cup of cooked long grain rice
1 medium onion minced (1/2 cup)
1/2 cup of chopped celery
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon of dried basil
dash of salt and pepper
1 1/2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
1 jar of tomatoes (28 ounce can drained)
8 slices of cheese (or shredded)
1 (8 ounce) can of tomato sauce with 1 cup of water
(optional bread crumbs)

Directions:
Directions:
Cook ground beef until almost done, add onion, celery and chopped pepper tops. Saute veggies until they are tender and drain. add COOKED rice, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, drained tomatoes, tomato sauce and water. Add basil and salt & pepper to taste.
Clean out peppers and cook in boiling water for 2 minutes. Remove from boiling water and put under cold running water. Stuff with meat mixture, top with optional bread crumbs and cheese. Pour remaining tomato sauce over peppers in casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
