2 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 Tbsp. baking cocoa
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. each ground cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice & cloves
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups applesauce
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup raisins

TOPPING:
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
2 Tbsp. brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add shortening, applesauce and eggs; beat until well mixed. Stir in chocolate chips, walnuts and raisins. Pour into a greased 13 in. X 9 in. X 2 in. baking pan. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until cake tests done.
