2 c.flour
1/2 t. salt
1-1/2 t. soda
1 c. sugar
1 c. chopped nuts
1 egg (beaten)
2 T. Crisco
1 cup raw cranberries (quartered)
Juice of 1 orange
Zest of 1 orange
Boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients (or whisk together). Mix in nuts, orange zest, and cranberries. In a 1 cup measuring cup, place 2 T. Crisco and juice of 1 orange. Fill cup with boiling water, then stir into mixture, adding egg last. Pour into prepared loaf pan (greased and ltly floured).. Bake at 325 degrees 1 hour (or until done) .

Remove from oven and let stand 15-20 min. remove from pan and place on rack, Wrap in foil. Freezes well.
