Red Chili Sauce Recipe

2 T shortening
2 T flour
- c red chili powder
4 oz can tomato sauce
2 c bullion or water
tsp salt
tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp oregano

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening. Add flour and mix well. Add chili starting with a small amount. Add rest after water has been added. Stir constantly when adding water. Continue stirring until smooth. Season to taste. Simmer for about 10 minutes at least.

Note: I sometimes use a small piece of salt pork or fat meat diced up and fried in place of the shortening.
