1 1/2 sticks butter
3 c. sugar
2/3 c. carnation milk

Place in heavy pan and bring to softball
stage (234 degrees F. on candy thermometer)

2 c. chocolate chips
1 small jar marshmellow cream
1 tsp vanilla
l c nut meats (walnuts or pecans)

After bringing mixture to softball stage, add 2 c. chocolate chips, jar marshmallpow cream, vanilla and chopped nuts. Pour into foil lined cake pan which is over lapped for easy removal. Cut into squares when cool. Store in covered tin or container.

This is a fool proof recipe if you follow directions--be sure to bring the butter, sugar and milk to a soft-ball stage. A candy thermometer is helpful and removes all doubt. I have added died chopped cherries with the nuts and it is delicious!
