Chocolate Pie Recipe

Premade pie crust

Pie filling:
3 egg yolks (beaten)
1 cup sugar
2-4 Tbsp cocoa
1 tsp butter
1/3 cup corn starch
2 cups milk

Meringue Topping:
3 egg whites
1/3 cup sugar (Actually, of regular sugar & of powdered sugar to make same 1/3 cup)
tsp baking powder

Bake pre-made pie crust as directed.

Mix dry ingredients. Set aside. Bring 2 cups milk to a boil, add butter. Add dry ingredients mixture slowly and stir constantly. Turn your heat down. It needs to be at a slow boil.

In separate bowl, add cup milk and (beaten) eggs. Add to milk mixture. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Slow boil to thicken.

Bake 325 350 degrees for 15 minutes until lightly brown.
