2 1/4 c sifted flour
1 1/3 c sugar
3 tsp baking soda
1/2 c shortening
1/4 c maraschino cherry juice
16 maraschino cherries (4-5-ox bottle)
1/2 c milk
1/2 to 2/3 c unbeaten egg whites
1 c chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour sugar and soda. Add shortening, cherry juice, cherries and milk and beat 2 minutes. Add egg whites and beat 2 minutes. Fold in chopped nuts. Pour into a pan and bake 20 to 35 minutes in a 350 oven.
