2 c raisins
1 c water
1 tsp baking soda

4 c flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder

1 c shortening
2 c sugar
2 large eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Boil the first 3 ingredients. Sift the next 5 ingredients together in a large bowl.

Cream the remaining 3 ingredients together. Add raisins to creamed mixture, including any liquid. Add dry ingredients.

Drop on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 10 minutes or until brown at 350º.
