2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/8 t. salt
1 stick butter
1/2 cup shortening or oil
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup water
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 t. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, flour, and salt together in a bowl. In sauce pan mix butter, oil, cocoa, and water. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and pour over flour mixture. Beat. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk to first mixture. Beat well. Pour into sheet cake pan and bake @ 400 for 20 minutes. 5 minutes before cake is done, make icing.

Icing:

1 stick butter
4 T. cocoa
6 T milk
1 pkg. powdered sugar

Heat butter, milk, and cocoa. Beat well. Add sugar and nuts (if desired) and beat well. Pour onto hot cake.
