1 lb. brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup pecans, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, butter and shortening together until smooth. Add beaten eggs. Mix flour, salt and baking soda together, then add to sugar mixture. Add pecans. Drop by small teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet and bake in a rather hot oven (425 to 450) until thoroughly browned.

These cookies will stay crisp for days if placed in tightly-closed container.
