"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb. hamburger
1/4 c. Caldo De Pollo
14 oz. can original stewed tomatoes
3 (14 oz.) cans pinto beans
4 tbsp. Grandma's Chili Powder
3 tbsp. Gebhardt's Chili Powder
1-2 c. water
Pace Mild Chunky Picante Sauce (if desired)
1 box Jiffy Brand Corn Bread (make as instructed on box)

Directions:
Directions:
Cook hamburger meat with the Caldo De Pollo, drain grease and set aside.
Empty all your cans into a medium sauce pan and stir together. Add the meat to the beans and tomatoes. Add the chili powders and 1 to 2 cups of water (depends on if you want a drier chili or more juice) and set onto a med-low simmer. Simmer for 1 hour. Taste to see if to your liking, and if needs salt. If needs salt, add a bit of Caldo De Pollo instead, but go easy on it, it can get salty quickly. Let simmer while you cook the corn bread. If the chili is too strong, add 1/2 cup of cream, 1/2 & 1/2 or milk to it. When cornbread is ready, you can add Picante sauce or sour cream and onions and cheddar cheese, or simply serve plain.
