Ingredients:  
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 c. flour
3 c. oatmeal
2 c. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs & vanilla. Mix soda, salt and flour and gradually add to above. Stir in oatmeal and chocolate chips. (can use raisins, dates or cut up orange slices instead of chocolate chips) Bake 375 for 10-12 min. Make sure to leave a few close to the counter edge so I can reach them!!!
