2 cups self rising flour
1/2 cup cold shortening
3/4 cup cold buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Cut shortening into flour until consistency of coarse meal. Make a well in the center of flour and pour in buttermilk, stir with a fork until soft dough forms. Gather dough into a ball and dust with flour on board, knead 5-6 times until dough holds together. Pat or roll 1/2" thick. Cut out biscuit. Bake 1-1/2" apart on cookie sheet in 450 oven 10-12 minutes. Serve hot.
