1 1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter softened
2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 T flour
1 cup nuts chopped
1 cup dates chopped
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Blend 1 1/4 cup flour with 1/4 cup brown sugar, cut in butter. Put in bottom of a greased 9 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes

Beat egg whites until stiff. Combine remaining 1 1/4 cup brown sugar with salt, baking powder, 2 T flour, dates and nuts. Gently fold into egg whites, add vanilla. Spread over baked mixture. Adjust oven to 325 and continue baking another 40 minutes or until set.
