1 c. soft shortening, such as Crisco
1-1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2-3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400.

Mix together the first three ingredients. When thoroughly mixed, sift and stir in next four ingredients. Roll into walnut sized balls, then roll in the sugar and cinnamon mixture.

Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 8-10 minutes. Cookies will puff at first, then fall and crack. These are best when undercooked. For crisper cookies, bake the full 10 minutes.
