16 oz can chickpeas (garbanzo beans) drained reserve liquid
1/4 C liquid from can
2 T. Tahini
5 T. lemon juice
2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
1/2 tsp. salt
2 T. Olive oil

Directions:
Directions:
Place all ingredients (except reserved liquid) in the food processor or blender, and blend until smooth. Add reserved liquid until it is of the desired consistency. Refrigerate and serve with pita bread or toasted pita chips.

Toasted pine nuts and olive oil are nice for garnish. You may also garnish with tomato wedges, cucumber, and dill pickles.
