Ingredients:
5 medium apples
4 medium peaches
1/2 C. water
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ginger
White or brown sugar to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Peel apples and peaches and cut into chunks (peel and pit the peaches). Combine apples, peaches, water, cinnamon and ginger in a medium saucepan, and place an over medium heat. Cook just until liquid begins to boil, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low, stir and simmer fruit until soft, adding more water if necessary, for about 10 minutes for a chunky consistency or about 15 minutes for a softer consistency. Stir in sugar to taste-the amount will depend on the variety and sweetness of the apples-and cook briefly to dissolve the sugar. Cool and serve warm or refrigerate. Can be packed into freezer safe containers and frozen. Makes 4 cups.
