2 tsp plus 1/2 c. butter( no substitutes) softened, 1/2 c. packed brown sugar, 1 egg yolk, 1 1/2 c. all purpose flour, TOPPING; 1 c. packed brown sugar, 1/2 c.butter,1/4 c. honey, 1/2 c.whipping cream, 4 c. chopped pecans.

Line a 13x9x2in. baking pan with foil; butter the foil with 2 tsp butter,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, In mixing bowl,cream butter with brown sugar. Add egg yolk; mix well. Gradually add flour. Press into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 min. or until golden brown. In sauce pan combine brown sugar, buttet and honey. Bring to a boil over medium heat;cook and stir for 3 min.. Remove from heat; stir in cream and pecans . Pour over crust. Bake for 30 min. cool completely on a wire rack. use foil to lift from pan ;place on cutting board cut into 24 bars ; cut each in half diagonally. yields 4 dozen.
