Biscuits and Gravy Recipe

1 lb of Sausage
2 T Flour
1 3/4 C Milk

2 C Flour
2 T Sugar
4 T Baking Powder
1/2 T Salt
1/2 T Cream of Tartar
1/2 C Shortening
1 Egg
2/3 C Milk

Gravy: Cook sausage and drain. Sprinkle with flour and stir. Gradually add milk while stirring constantly. Bring to boil. Boil for one minute. Cook until thick.
Biscuits: Combine the first 5 dry ingredients. Cut in the shortening. Beat egg and milk; then stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Turn onto flour surface and cut out biscuits. Bake at 400 for 12-15 minutes.
