4c. sugar
1c. white syrup
3/4c. water
4 egg whites
2 tsp. almond extract
1c. chopped walnuts or pecans

Directions:
Directions:
cook sugar, syrup,water to 255 degrees or to cracking stage in cold water. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Slowly pour hot mixture into egg whites, continue to beat with electric mixer until,add extract and continue mixing until shine starts to disappear then add nuts. Spoon onto waxed paper according to the size you want.

This is from Grandma Card, when she was unable to read the recipe anymore she wrote "Try it, you and I might like it" the recipe is dated 1990 and I still have it on the paper she wrote it on
