1/3 cup shortening (oil)
3 1/2 cups flour
1 cup lukewarm water
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 egg
2 packages quick-acting yeast

Directions:
Directions:
Use a 12 x 8" pan.

Melt shortening, add water, sugar, salt and yeast. Keep warm. Add slightly beaten egg. Put flour in mixing bowl and gradually add the yeast mixture. Turn onto floured board and roll to size of pan. Cut with scissors. Brush with butter, cover with towel. Let rise in warm place until double in bulk, about 30 minutes.

Bake in hot oven 400 about 15 minutes. Makes 36 rolls.

Half of recipe makes one round cake pan full. Pinch off pieces sizes of a walnut.
