3 or 4 large yams
½ cup of brown sugar
1½ stick of butter
1 ½ cup of white sugar
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of water

Preheat oven to 350 degree
Wash and peel potatoes. Cut potatoes into 2 ` inch disks. In a large pan, melt 1 stick of butter, add sliced yams and brown. Remove yams from pan and place them in a baking dish. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, I cup of sugar, ½ cup of brown sugar and ½ stick of butter. Add 1 cup of water
and bake for 20 to 25 minutes in 350 degree oven.
