8 med. summer squash
1 lg. onion, sliced
2 eggs, lightly beaten
3/4 tsp. pepper
3/4 c. milk
3 tbs. melted butter
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. fresh bread crumbs
3 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 3 qt. casserole. Wash squash and cut into 2" cubes. Combine with onions in saucepan and cook in a little boiling salted water for about 10 min. or till tender. Drain and arrange in casserole . Combine eggs, pepper, milk, butter, salt, crumbs and half the cheese. Mix thoroughly and pour over the squash.Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake for 30 min.
