3/4 c flour
1/8 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1-3/4 c sugar
3/4 c milk
1/2 c butter
3 c fresh peaches, seeded, peeled and cut up
NOTE: If peaches aren’t fully ripe, cook the peaches with a little water and sugar for about 10 minutes before adding to the cobbler.

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Mix with 1-1/2 cups of sugar. Slowly stir in milk. Melt butter in an 8x8x2 pan. Pour batter over butter – DO NOT STIR. Lay peaches on batter. Bake for 1 hour. After 45 minutes, sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup sugar and continue baking.
