1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 c. sliced green onion
2 1/2 c. Wisconsin sharp cheddar cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Shred the cheese and set aside. With the butter, flour, milk, salt and pepper, make your white sauce. Now add the green onion and cheese, stirring until the cheese is melted. Serve in a fondue pot, with a low flame under it, or another vessel so as to keep the fondue hot. With fondue forks, dip chunks of crusty bread in it.

This is part of our Christmas Eve tradition. We do two kinds of fondue, and this is something the kids absolutely LOVE. It is great with chunky sourdough bread and par-boiled carrots, baby potatoes, cauliflower, and mushrooms.
