1 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
2 c. extra fine granulated sugar
2 c. egg whites ( about 14 eggs)
2 tsp. cream of tartar
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400° F. Sift flour, add 3/4 c. sugar and sift together 5 times. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add cream of tartar and salt and continue beating. Very gradually, 1 T. at a time, beat in remaining sugar. When batter looks shiny and stiff, very gradually fold in sifted flour mix and vanilla.
Pour batter into 9 inch angel food cake pan and bake 10 minutes at 400° F. Reduce heat again to 300° F and bake until cake is done, about 1 hr. Remove form oven, turn upside down to cool. When cool, remove from pan, and frost or leave plain. Pray for Peg and Jerry as you enjoy this!
