1/2 c.p butter softened
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 2/3 c. of flour
2 tsp. baking powder sugar
2/3 c. whipping cream
1 c. sliced almonds

Directions:
Directions:
To Make Cookies: In mixing bowl blend butter and 1 c. sugar until creamy and light. Beat in vanilla and egg. Sift flour with baking powder. Stir into creamed mixture. Blend thoroughly. wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate for 2 to 24 hours.

To shape cookies: Roll dough into balls. Place 2 1/2 to 3 inches apart on a greased baking sheets. Grease bottom of glass to flatten each ball to about 1/4 inch thick.

To make topping: In 2 qt. sauce pan, bring cream and 2 tsp. of sugar to a boil. Continue to cook until reduced by half. Remove from heat. Stir in almonds. Spread small amount of almond mixture on top of each cookie.

To Bake cookies: Bake at 350º for 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool. Store in airtight containers.
