2 c. water
2 c. sugar
2 c. grated apples
2 c. raisins
2 sticks margarine
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 c. walnuts, chopped
2 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350

Combine water, sugar, apples, raisins, margarine, and spices in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat and cool completely.

In large bowl, stir the nuts and baking soda into the flour. Add the cooled mixture to the bowl and stir until blended. Fill greased muffin tins with batter to the top. Bake for 15 minutes.
