48 Hershey Kisses
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. creamy peanut butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. packed light brown sugar
1 egg
2 T. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
additional sugar for garnish

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 375F. Remove all wrappers from chocolates and set in fridge so kisses won't melt. Beat shortening and peanut butte in large bowl. Add 1/3 cup white and brown sugars; beat until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into mixture. Shape into balls and roll into sugar; place on cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes until light brown. Immediately press a kiss into center of each cookie. Let cool completely on wire rack.
