1 lb. butter
2 1/2 C sugar
2 C almond slivers
1/4 tsp cream of tarter

Topping:
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 C chopped almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Blend butter and sugar over med/hi heat. Stir constantly until well blended. Add almond slivers and continue stirring until mixture begins to pull away from the sides of the pan. Add cream of tarter. Continue stirring until mixture turns the color of peanutbutter and carmelizes. Immediately spread evenly between 2 ungreased cookie sheets. For the topping: sprinkle chips over hot candy and allow to melt then spread chocolate with a knife. Sprinkle almonds over chips. Freeze until hard. Turn candy over in pan and break into small pieces.
