5 cups flour
3/4 cup Crisco
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. sugar
1 cake yeast dissolved in 1/2 cup lukewarm water
2 cups buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Bake at 400 for 12 minutes.

Sift dry ingredients together, cut in shortening until mixed thoroughly. Add buttermilk and yeast. Work together with spoon until flour is all moistened.
Cover bowl and put in refrigerator until ready to use as needed.

When ready, take out as much as needed, roll on a floured board to 1/2" thickness and cut with biscuit cutter.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet, bake for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
