Here's an idea that is guaranteed to chill even the hottest summer days. Clean some mint leaves (a wonderful herb to always have on hand or growing in a pot). Then wet a fluffy cotton towel, and wring it out almost dry. Lay the leaves down on the folded, damp towel, and carefully roll it up. Leave the towel in the refrigerate for 2 or 3 hours.

When you feel the need to beat the heat, take it out, shake off the leaves, and rub your hands and face with its cool minty freshness. Aah!
