2 pkg. yeast
1 C. lukewarm water
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 C. oil
2 C. buttermilk
5 C. self-rising flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water, add sugar; stir. Add remaining ingredients. Pinch off amount needed and cook in a 350 oven until golden-brown. The rest can be refrigerated for 10 days.

When I was a small child, my grandmother made the BEST rolls. This was a recipe I got not long after getting married that came close to the recipe she used (in fact I think I got this from my mom and this may be the original recipe).
