1-1 1/2 cup uncooked elbow macaroni
2 T. butter
2 T. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. grated cheese
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cook macaroni until tender. In saucepan, melt butter and add flour, salt and pepper. Add milk and cook and stir until bubbly. Add onion if desired. Add cheese and stir away from direct heat until cheese has melted. Mix with macaroni and pour into greased casserole. Crush cracker crumbs on top and bake at 400F for 15 minutes.
