Cheddar Chowder Recipe

2 c. water
1/2 c. diced carrots
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 c. diced potatoes
1/2 c. diced celery
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk
2 c. grated cheddar cheese
1 c. cubed ham

Combine water, carrots, onions, pepper, potatoes, celery & salt in large stove top pot. Boil 10-12 minutes. Meanwhile, in small saucepan, melt butter and add flour until smooth. (about 1 minute) Slowly add milk, cook until thickened. Add cheddar cheese stir until melted. Pour in cheese sauce to large pot of vegetables (not drained) and add ham. Heat through.
