All ingredient quantities are subject to amount of meat used. Please do not stress about quantities, they are not critical, use your best judgement.The measurements are a guideline, the adjustments are to your own taste. Cooking is fun, keep it that way.
1 lb. ground beef or ground turkey
1 large can crushed tomato
1 rounded T Chili powder
garlic powder
black pepper
salt
1tsp. cumin
1 bottle of beer if you have it on hand (optional)
1 small onion, sliced thin or chopped
1 can red kidney beans
pinch of cayenne pepper or more to taste
Small amount canola oil to coat bottom of cooking pot.

Use at least a four quart, heavy bottomed cooking pot.
Place cooking oil on bottom and heat, put in onions and cook until translucent, add ground meat and brown, keeping an eye on it as not to let it get too brown.
Put in the can of tomato, the can of beans that has been drained and all of the seasonings.
Cook down, adjusting the seasonings to taste.
Cooking time is about two hours, the longer, the thicker the sauce becomes.
The beer is put in about a half hour into the cooking time, if you choose to use it.
