Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 large cans of tomatoes (put in blender for 1/2 minute to mush) - any kind (adjust according to size of batch)
1 small can Hunt's tomato sauce (adjust according to size of batch)
2 cans tomato paste
1 onion chopped
1-2 garlic cloves
parsley
basil
salt
pepper
2 tsp sugar (adjust depending on how sweet you like your sauce)

Directions:
Directions:
Saute garlic and onions in olive oil. If this is to be a meat sauce you can brown sausage or hamburger in with onions. Add tomatoes, making sure to strain seeds, and tomato sauce. Adjust amount of cans you want depending on size of batch. I usually add 4 cans of each and will split and make some plain and some meat sauce. Simmer 1 hour, occasionally skimming froth. Add fresh parsley, basil, sugar, and paste near end. Add meatballs if desired and season as desired.

Personal Notes:
As often with Mom's recipes, she didn't write down all the steps. So since I had a tutorial on this by her, I added some missing steps! She also improved the recipe over the years, but didn't write it down LOL!
