Bran Muffins Recipe

4 c. All Bran
2 c. Bran Flakes
1 c. shortening
4 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. salt
5 c. flour
2 c. boiling water
5 tsp. baking soda
1 qt. buttermilk
3 c. sugar, plus a little more

Combine brans and salt in large mixing bowl. Stir in boiling water, then buttermilk. Cool to lukewarm.

In mixing bowl, cream together sugar and shortening. Add beaten eggs and mix well. Stir into bran mixture. Stir in flour and soda, just enough to dampen ingredients. Put in pail and keep tightly covered. Will last in refrigerator for 6 weeks.

Bake at 350 for 20-25 mins.
