Enough peeled and sliced baking apples (MacIntosh, Jonathan, Gravenstein, Pippin, Granny Smith) to fill a 9x13" pan 3/4 full (maybe 12-14)

1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour

Directions:
Directions:
Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan. Fill it with sliced baking apples. Mix the next four ingredients with a fork, pastry blender, or your fingers. Sprinkle over the apples and pat down.

Bake at 450 for 10 minutes and 350 for 30 minutes, or until apples are very soft.

You can make this dessert with any good cooking apple, but it is most delicious in late August or September, when you can get old-fashioned Gravenstein apples. This is the dessert they serve in heaven.
