A great way to spend a day with the little ones is to go on a nature walk/hunt. You can either give them a baggie and let them look for any treasures they find on their own or give them a list of things to look for. Be sure that the kids use all their senses while on their walk. Ask them to close their eyes and listen to what's around them and smell the trees. Ask them how the items they are picking up feel. The kids like to come back and glue all their items on a paper so they can remember their nature hunt. In girl scouts they would give us a paper plate and a some bubble gum and when we found an item we would tear a little bit of gum off and stick the item on the plate with it.
