One very special thing that both of our moms did for us was save one or two of their favorite outfits from when we were babies. When we had our children, they gave us the clothes and a photo that was taken of us in those clothes. We were able to take new photos of our children in our own baby clothes and then display the photos side by side. It is a very special keepsake. Eventually, I'd like to frame the clothes and the photos together in a shadow box, one for each child. I carefully picked our favorite outfits for both Ian and Taya to be able to someday pass along to their children. Start building a hope chest for each child, not literally, but begin saving special momentos that you want to pass down and they will be protected and treasured.
