2 cups of sugar
1 cup of milk
3 cups of flour
3 t. baking powder
t. salt
2 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in the egg yolks and vanilla. Measure 3 cups of sifted flour; sift again with baking powder and salt. Add this to butter mixture alternating with milk, beating after each addition. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites; pour batter into 2 qt. tube pan that has been well greased and lightly floured. Bake 1 hour at 375, turn out on cake rack to cool, sprinkle with sifted confections sugar.
