Ingredients:  
1 stick margarine
Pinch of salt
c. shortening
c Buttermilk
4 T. cocoa
t. soda, add to buttermilk
1 cup water
2 eggs
2 c. self-rising flour
1 t. vanilla
2 c. sugar

Icing

1 stick of margarine
1 box powdered sugar sifted
4 t. cocoa
1 t. vanilla
6 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Put in saucepan 1 stick margarine, c. shortening, 4T cocoa, 1 c. water. Bring to a boil. Add mixture to already mixed 2 c. flour (sifted), 2 c. sugar and salt. Mix well. Add buttermilk with soda in it. Mix well. Pour into 9 x 13 pan which had been sprayed. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Icing
In saucepan put 1 stick margarine, 4 T cocoa, 6T milk-Bring to a boil. Take off stove and add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time in the same saucepan. Add 1t vanilla. Pour over hot cake in pan.

Optional
to 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts in icing or to 1 cup of coconut. Good while still warm. It will stay moist for days.
