CAKE:
1 1/2 cups boiling water,
1 cup quick cooking oats (example 3 minutes),
1/2 cup salad oil, or oleo or shortening,
1/2 cup flour,
1 tsp flour,
1 tsp cinnamon,
1 tsp soda,
1/2 tsp salt,
1 cup brown sugar,
1 cup white sugar,
2 eggs.

TOPPING:
1 stick margarine,
1 cup brown sugar,
1 tsp vanilla,
1/2 cup pecans,
1/2 cup evaporated milk or whole milk,
1 can coconut,

CAKE:
Pour boiling water over oats. let stand
While preparing the following:
Sift together flour, cinnamon, soda, salt,
Add to sugar, eggs and oil.

Then add oatmeal, mix well,
bake 350 for 30 to 40 minutes.

TOPPING:
Dissolve together sugar and milk, add
butter and cook. Stirring constantly until thick.
Take from heat, add vanilla, nuts and coconut.
Pour on cake while hot.
