2 cans apple slices or
6 c. peeled and sliced apples
1 c. water
2 c. sugar
Grated rind from 1 small orange (2-3 tsp.)
2 tsp. cinnamon
Dash of salt if apples are flat tasting
2 - 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 - 2 Tbsp. water

Directions:
In a saucepan add peeled apples, water, sugar, orange rind and cinnamon. When apples come to a rolling boil, add cornstarch that has been mixed with water. Stir until mixture thickens. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Cover top with crust. Brush top of pie with milk or cream. Bake at 425º for 15 min. Turn oven down to 375º. Bake 35 more minutes or until crust is browned.
