Molasses Cake Recipe

2 Cups flour
1 Cup sugar
1/2 Cup shortening
1/2 Tsp. ginger
1/2 Tsp. cinnamon

Mix as for pie crust and put aside 1/2 cup. Make a hole in the middle of remainder and add the following:
1 egg
2 Big Tbsp. molasses
1 Cup milk
1 Tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt

Mix together.

Put dough in well greased and floured pan and sprinkle the 1/2 cup of mixture over top. Bake at 350 for 40 - 50 minutes.
