1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar & vanilla. Beat in eggs. Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together. Add dry ingredient mixture alternately with sour cream to shortening & egg mixture. Stir in nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes or until bottoms are slightly browned.

Frosting: Heat and stir 6 tablespoons butter in saucepan over low heat until golden brown. Remove from heat and beat in 2 cups of confectioner's sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla. Add enough hot water until spreading consistency.

Note: While frosting cookies, if it seems to dry out, stir in a little bit more hot water to get it back to spreading consistency.
